Sun: grows best with full sun                        Tolerates: partial shade, adaptable tough sites with poor fertility

Fall color: yellow

Flowering: produces cream flowers in spring, followed by white berries mid-late summer.

Uses: Forms a large plant colony from the original,  fruit eaten by pheasants and grouse.  Provides good winter cover and habitat for migrant songbirds - especially warblers. 

Note: is known to attract 98 varieties of birds. Planting before May could provide a better yield.
