Fall Color: purple-red
Flowering: White flowers early April-June Fruits: start out yellow and red - maturing to bluish-black berries in the fall.
Uses: Good bird and wildlife food and cover. Host plant for Azure butterflies and food plant for many other butterflies. Also used for mixed border, screen, and windbreak.
Planting Tips: Prune immediately after flowering since flower buds form in summer for the following year. Remove root suckers to control spread unless naturalization is desired.
