Uses: Good bird and wildlife food and cover; berries edible to people; host plant for Azure butterflies and food plant for many other butterflies; used for mixed borders, screens, windbreaks, and along streambanks.
Planting Tips: Prune immediately after flowering since flower buds form in summer for the following year. Remove root suckers to control spread unless naturalization is desired.
