Uses: Along ponds, river banks, has attractive bright red stems, forms a large plant colony. Good wildlife cover, known to attract 98 varieties of birds. All dogwoods are host plants for Azure butterflies and food plants for many butterfly species.
Note: To retain stems with good red color, remove a few of the oldest stems to the ground every spring.
