Sun: full sun                                                      Tolerate: deer, drought

Cones: Oblong, brownish-yellow cones; 1 to 2 inches long. Flowers May-June

Color: Bluish-green needles 1 to 3 inches long; orangish, flaky bark 

Uses: Windbreaks, timber. Provides good wildlife food and cover. Widely used for Christmas trees. It should be considered for short-term plantings as tree may not live past 20 years.
